Biography
Natasza Caban was born on 12th of April 1977. Since her born she lives in Ustka, Poland. She graduated from First Community High School in Slupsk. Traveling and inclination to gain all possible sailing experience took priority in her life over formal university education, at least for the time being.
She started from participation in sailing camps, cruises and few navigation courses. Soon, dealing with a sea became her way of life.
Luckily, while studying French in Paris she got her first crew position on famous Kia Loa IV (Maxi 80). Since then, her nautical career had flourished: other yachts, boats, deliveries, regattas and lots of sailing on various blue waters.
Traveling around the world let her understand that the best way to sail is to be determined to do it! That is how she had decided to go to Australia and she did it! She took part in Sydney to Hobart regatta.
She landed on Antipodes with no return ticket and with just 12 dollars in her pocket but the very next day she got a job in yachting club which allowed her to get on water the day after!
In her strong opinion this was possible only because of her willpower and desire for learning from the best. Of course, in turn, while being on shore she wanted to learn more and more about boats, so she engaged herself with rigging masters.
Besides this, she had time to explore other interests like: truck driving, paragliding, horseback riding, playing the guitar, diving, windsurfing, volleyball, snowboarding and playing tennis.
She claims that the most amazing thing in the world is a power of dreams.
Her favorite place, besides the ocean, is Rapa Nui, where live more horses than people. There, one can spend hours sitting by a crater and just admiring those semi-wild and beautiful animals drinking water from the waterhole.
