it’s night. the moon has gone in clouds. there is absolute darkness and I can’t see the stars. They’re behind the clouds. Earlier, I saw two shooting stars...
head full of dreams...
I’ve been on the sea for one week now and I’ve started reading the book that Captain Wojtek Jacobson gave me – On Maria to Peru.  I was curious how they managed their cruise in this part of the Pacific in which I’ve just got stuck.

Reading on board gives you the chance to have a nap, but not because the book is boring but because there are no other yachts, no squalls. Sleep is worth one’s weight in gold and books evoke such thoughts and create such a world that are a perfect prelude to our dreams... and it was like that this time as well... first, I was looking at the dedication for a long time. If he could only see that... and when I started reading, I thought that it was a pity the photos weren’t sharp and the book was so short... but I was glad that the letters were so small :) and then, I moved to the world of sailing, I read about sailors, many of whom I’ve had the chance to meet.

You must have heard about Ludek - Ludomir Mączka, haven’t you? What a person he was! He was an extremely extraordinary man. I had the pleasure to eat breakfast with him when I was staying at Małgorzata Kraustschneider’s house. I remember the cottage cheese, bread, honey, tea... and HIM – a living legend. A legend eating breakfast with me! We chatted. I was so nervous that I could barely swallow my breakfast...

coming back to the present time...

so I had a nap, and you know what? For five days I had been fighting with the changing current (which, as they told me, is even stronger this year), with the wind which wouldn’t let me go in the direction of the Galapagos, and I woke up when I felt a strange move of the yacht. the wind changed  a bit from south-eastern to more southern. I’m afraid to be happy as I don’t want to jinx it, but I think the terrible wind finally blew off. Better late than never. I’ve had enough problems getting here. Janek, 5 days ago you told me: ‘Be patient.’ Can I finally sail where I want to? The waves will still be strange because I’m going in the direction opposite to the current, in a bit better direction. I’ve told you about Angels... I’ve heard that Wojtek Jacobson is such an angel man to many sailors.
I’ve just started reading the book. Now I’ll set the sails for the new head and I’ll go back to reading...
later: well-written... and definitely too short!
even later: the unfavourable wind came back
