After a long journey over the Atlantic Ocean, Robert Rumak, a charge of the “Against the Odds” foundation, and Andrzej Trojanek – Robert’s guardian and a friend of the cruise, have finally arrived.

Tanasza is the first yacht that Robert has ever embarked. He likes it, but he imagined it to be bigger. He also enjoyed palm trees from the start. ’There are none in Poland,’ he says. Robert also found local food tasty, though ’different.’ He eats a lot :) and with pleasure. One thing he misses is his favourite apple juice, which is not available on the island. He is very fond of the Caribbean beaches; one thing that perplexes him is that cars on the entire island drive on the opposite side of the road (in Poland cars drive on the right side) :)
Although Robert cannot attend classes in school due to his trip, we provide lessons for him here – everyone around speaks English so Robert has to practise it all the time! He learns many new things here, the last one being how to jump from a diving board with legs down :)

Although “Medivet Cruise with Natasza” has only just begun, we immediately got new friends. IGY – Rodney Bay marina manager, Cuthber Didier (www.igy-rodneybay.com), offered a mooring spot for Tanasza and water free of charge. He sorted out a guide who will show us around the island. He also took care of meetings and interviews for local (and not only) newspapers. Tomorrow, we are going to have a meeting in a local TV station.

Yesterday, however, we accepted an invitation of Donovan Nevton Brown and his company, Eastern Carribean Diving (www.easterncaribbeandiving.com), and we went diving! (thanks to Marcus and Neville for their help). Imagine that me, Robert and Andrzej went diving together, after a short training session on how to scuba-dive, of course... I turned out to be the biggest coward of the three and got out of the water very soon :P The water itself was not too warm, but Robert really enjoyed it (especially colourful fish).

We are all doing fine and Tanasza is happy to house our guests and a bigger crew. Andrzej is an experienced skipper and Robert is a very brave crew member. He gladly helps in all yacht activities, but enjoys spending time in water the most :)
