Achievement of the year – winners of National Geographic Traveler awards announced!

I’ve heard today that I was distinguished with a National Geographic Traveler 2009 award! Only being nominated to these prizes in two categories ‘The Traveler’s blog’ and ‘The Achievement of the Year’ was a great honour. When the results of the competition were announced, and it occurred that I won in the latter category, I couldn’t help thinking that it must be an April Fools’ Day joke. Imagine how surprised I was when the information turned out to be true!!! :)

It is truly great news – I am honoured and overwhelmed. I would like to congratulate again to both the nominees and the prize-winners. I sincerely thank those who voted for me.
P.S. I have almost forgotten to share the results of the March plebiscite “The Influential Woman”. Well, owning to your votes, I have received the honourable second position! :) Again, I want to give my thanks to all those who voted for me.
