Some people have asked me why I do not just go around without any stops. I have more than one good reason for that. First, it is not true that sailing with stops is easier. On the contrary, when you think about it, it is clear that the greater distance from a shore, the safer it is. Near the coast, a sailor has to cope with reefs, shallows, currents, tides, fish boats or large vessels going to ports. And I just love challenges! Second, I wouldn’t have seen many wondrous places on the way, and I wouldn’t have met so many fantastic people. Above all, I wouldn’t be able to share all my experiences with you.

It is always beautiful on the sea. Sometimes difficult, sometimes easy, yet always beautiful! We’ve got silence, we’ve got storms, something breaks down, something gets fixed. I visit new places and it is always a fantastic experience. For example, in the autumn, I harboured in the capital of Papua-New Guinea – Port Moresby. Why there? Well, I had to wait out the cyclone season on the Indian Ocean. Port Moresby provided safe shelter during this dangerous period.
I used the break to go home, to Poland, to Ustka. I made a good use of that time. I was looking for sponsors, contacts in the TV and the press. I have started cooperation with a charity foundation. I was lucky, again, for I have met tremendous people (starting with older colleagues – sailors who shared their experience; ending with people I have met purely by chance) who have helped me a lot. I drove across the country like a lunatic, virtually living in a car and talking over my mobile. It was worth it.
I have reached the media, thanks to Roman Paszke, It involved numerous interviews in the TV, press and radio. I needed that in order to tell the world what I do, and why I do it. Janusz Cieliszak (www.mediapartners.pl) helped me prepare for public performances. During my stay in the capital, I have met my friend Janek, whose sweetheart Magda offered to build my new website (www.mosqui.to). During a meeting in a women’s corner (www.rozmawialnia.pl), I met Marta, who contacted me with Piotr from Anna Dymna’s Foundation. That meeting, although late at night (we were both exhausted then), brought about a tremendous outcome. Piotr is an exceptional person. Our conversation lifted my spirits and gave me the strength to work, especially that I received an official approval for cooperation (www.mimowszystko.org). I remember that I was so touched that I shed tears. My journey acquired another, greater level! I do not sail for myself anymore. Soon after, thanks to Hubert’s help, I started cooperation with “Horn” Sea Club from Kielce (www.klubhorn.pl). Amazing goodwill from their side and mutual trust did not let me slow down even a bit. Meanwhile, I met Wojtek who works for TVN (www.goldenline.pl). After an honest conversation I was introduced to Jakub, and, as a result, TVN24.PL supports my cause. I also met Piotr (www.lh-c.pl) who helps improve my PR.
I found a lot of support in my hometown, Ustka, as well. I had a lot of fruitful talks and meetings. The city mayor and Piotr did what they could... and, as a result, Ustka has its own ambassador who represents the city on the cruise around the world. I would like to thank Mr Edward Zając, the editor in Ziemia Ustecka (www.ziemia_ustecka.republika.pl), who has been a keen supporter of my cause from the very beginning. I also received support from a number of local entrepreneurs  and some anonymous sponsors – I am very grateful to them all. Jackie from Hawaii designed a logo for “Tanasza”, several anonymous people supported my project through my webpage. I wish to say big “Thanks” to all of them.

I managed to get a week off in March and I flew to Chicago at the invitation of Krzysztof Kamiński. It was a time of intense promotion of the cruise and local companies which support it: INTER-PRO and WDT. I also had the support of local Polonia, mostly sailors who keep fingers crossed for my and Tanasza’s luck.

In Poland, almost all of my friends “used” their contacts to make sure myself and Tanasza are ready for the next stages of the journey. Bartek made contact with Jacek (www.jadmar.com.pl) who not only invited me to his home, but also helped me with many issues when I was in trouble. What is more, when a battery in my mobile died (it spent a lot of time on the sea with me), I received a package from Piotr with a brand new mobile. His company, Medivet (www.medivet.pl), decided to join my project, mostly because Piotr is an extraordinary person, I believe. If you asked to name a person who fully lives, it would be him. It was him who helped me on the first day and has been helping me ever since. I was very lucky to meet him.

I had the pleasure to visit the KRD company in Wrocław where I met Maciej and Andrzej. They helped me with my first public presentation of slides from my journey (I promise to have photos of better quality next time! ). Many of the following meetings with teenagers were arranged by my former philosophy teacher, who invited me to meet them: thanks to his help I was able to establish cooperation with the Wodociągi Słupskie company. Many thanks to the entire crew for their support for around-the-world journey!

Martyna, Bartek and Norbert – my forever friends, kept watch every day and night in order to make sure that computer problems were dealt with, and data search run smooth. Friends from Ustka Yacht Club (www.jachtklub.ustka.pl) were by the phone all the time, business cards were designed and prepared by Włodek; Piotr from Mazury helped with recording of all materials; Beata, Gosia, Magda, Andrzej, Szymon, Ander (...) took me in for a meal during my long journeys; Rafał threw himself into editing of my webpage. Kasia helped with documents, etc. I also met Jarek – a lawyer (www.salans.com), who decided to help with the project, Krzysztof, who provided professional advice (www.pharmax.pl), as well as Halina. Maciej and Jana received me at their place in Szczecin. I left with a handful of charts and lots of presents (very useful things on yacht), and my stomach was full of delicious pierogi.  I met Adam, by sheer accident, who introduced me to Yamaha music schools. From now on, I can play their guitar while at sea.

Everything is like a dream, isn’t it? So many people helping, so many people writing to me in support... I did not even imagine how my sailing inspires other people to fulfil their dreams. I am honoured and I wish you persistence.

At the end, I would like to mention two persons without who I would not have been strong enough to sail around the world – my Mom and sister. I wouldn’t be where I am without them.

Once again, big thank you to all. I could not name everyone, but I would like everyone to know this – it is thanks to you that I can go on.
