It’s still very windy. Today, on my way back to “Tanasza”, I saw an ownerless yacht, its mainsail dancing on the wind. I tied it, a good deed done. I hope others would do the same for me. Oh, how nice. A friend of mine is taking a sailor examination right here. It does not matter if it the wind blows with the speed of 30 or 50 knots, the examinations still take place – I like it, it is difficult but seems right.   I’ve met a fantastic group of Poles here.  We met at Staszek Kalinowski and Jadzia Dziupla’s place. Although it was Staszek’s birthday, he greeted me with the following words: “Brave sailor, in your lone cruise around the world, myself and my guests gathered here welcome you. Stay safe and healthy, with our thoughts lengthy, accompanying you to the final directly.”.It was wonderful, Danusia from Zambia told us about Ludomir Mączka and Ruda Krautschnaider... she also mentioned an oak which grew next to Mr. Świechoski’s house. I have met many...

Cape Town. It’s already January, and, what’s more, New Year has come:) Time flies, oh yeah, it does! It’s as speedy as if it had at least two spinnakers and was running with the engine at the same time... How was your New Year’s Eve, by the way? can you remember what you were doing on the last day of poor old 2007?  As for me, I don’t feel winter at all, I can’t even wear my race hat („Cape to Bahia”) – not only because it’s hot, but also because beginning with this year, solitary sailors cannot participate in the event. Well, rules are rules, good to know them and obey them, plus, I quite like the fact that I’m sailing on my own and I’m not going to hide it:)    I tried to prolong my visa, and you know what? It was only today that I really felt that I’m in Africa. Well.. Since you ask me about the rules... I can only recommend that you visit WSSR website www.sailspeedrecords.com. I...

South Africa... Christmas and after I don’t know what to start with – stories about a beautiful country full of breathtaking landscapes, or about all those animals I have met on my way. Those encounters meant much to me, they were more than I could’ve ever dreamt of... I was in Kruger National Park on Christmas Eve – I saw elephants, giraffes, hippos and lions. Can you imagine??? I also spent one day on a safari at Mrs. Ala’s who is a Pole (www.tshukudu.co.za). I even went for a walk with a young lioness and I stroked a cheetah... My heart melted... Well, there was no carp at the Christmas table, but I don’t like the fish anyway :) Instead, I had traditional Polish wafer sent here by my mom. My New Year’s Eve was also amazing. I climbed Cape of Good Hope (the cable car didn’t work that day). The place looks totally different when viewed from land but it is still magical. The wind blew terribly; I was attacked by monkeys...
