Before seeing Robert and his carer off to the airport, I didn’t even have time to ask them about London, where they had stayed for one night on their way to the Caribbean Islands. Robert liked the London Eye most – it’s a kind of a vertical merry-go-round with little wagons fixed to it. You can have a look at London from very high in the air. I heard that it could go a bit faster, though :) Despite the fact that the weather was very British, they saw a lot, and would like to thank Agnieszka and Sergiusz, who put them up and invited for dinner, for the hospitality. Andrzej really appreciates it that they both found time for them, although it was a weekday.
The road leading to the airport was really beautiful, with mountains just at the seaside and meandering paths. The waterfall was not big but it was situated in botanical gardens. I was amazed! The hum of water... the place was located among bamboos, and the soothing silence was disturbed only by the sound of birds singing...
Before the departure, we went to have something to eat and at the beach and to wait for the airplane. Palm trees, blue water and Robert, who, despite the rain, dipped his feet in the sea and practised running away from the waves... and the natives riding horses bareback. Well, I’ll never forget that view.
I was sad when they left. I immediately started to miss Robert; his: will do, uhm, when will we go to the swimming-pool? On my way back, I gave a lift to four hitch-hikers from the village A to the village B and I jumped onto the pontoon to look for the Shanties catamaran, which is named like that because it was Jacek Reschke who organised the famous Cracow shanties. When I found it, I went to see its new crew. I had the pleasure to meet Jacek’s fantastic wife, Dobrocława. I knew it was her at once because she came to take the mooring line, she knew what she was doing. We could chat and tell stories for hours as she makes a really good sailor – she sailed around Cape Horn not long ago! I spent a really nice evening with them and I was given presents. Just imagine that I ate two long links of sausage at one sitting!!! And it was the only moment when I switched my status into Over! You should know that each time I find myself an audience, I can’t stop talking, just as if there were no tomorrow. Are the side-effects of my lonely journey becoming visible?
Fortunately, my hosts had already eaten dinner so I didn’t have to share the sausage :) Then I ate some Polish chocolate, and I was given pills for allergy backlash (like the one I had in La Reunion) and a new pile of music! Yupiiii! I’m so happy that now I can listen to Polish shanties before going to sleep.
I spent the night at a hotel but I didn’t even get the chance to fully enjoy it – I fell asleep immediately.
In the morning, there was an exchange and I hosted the crew of Shanties on the board of Tanasza. I like those Jacek’s charters. I’d even like to go on one... Maybe one day...
