Another day has passed... We went to Direction Island again. It was our last day there. First, we took a pontoon and sailed to the yacht. The weather wasn’t very nice, but soon a strong wind blew rainclouds away. We decided to have a photo session. First, I stood with Natasza at the bow of the yacht, and then Eliza and me at the stern. It was wonderful:) I felt the scent of the ocean and such amazing freedom. We came back to the island and we finished our flag to be placed on the shelter. Afterwards, I hopped into the hammock. There was nothing to worry about, so I could rest. Resting in one place is not that interesting, so we, Eliza and me, went swimming. I wore my swimming glasses and I even submerged for 5 seconds. I’ve seen the ocean bed. It was sandy, but covered with stones. But the most important thing is that I dragged my feet away from the bottom and I floated! I can’t swim and it was something totally new for me. Unfortunately, I can’t hold my breath and I will not swim underwater. Shame :( Meanwhile, Chacho was breaking coconuts for us and singing Spanish songs. A new yacht moored today, and its owner was Polish! It is amazing that you can meet a compatriot at the world’s end. Louis took me and Natasza to the other side of the Direction Island. Then, he took Eliza a bit farther for snorkelling. She said that she had seen some big puffed-up fish. Fortunately, they’ve met no sharks. When they finished, Louis came and took me there as well. I snorkelled in much more shallow and calm water. Additionally, I had a special sailor life rig and I had my swimming glasses on. Louis swam next to me and when I put my head underwater in order to see something, I had someone to hold in case of trouble :) It was great! The coral reef is wonderful. I’ve seen a lot of small colourful fish. They had stripes, black, blue, all kinds. It was very interesting:) I am happy that I was able to do that without exhausting my lungs too much We had some more photos taken, on a kind of pontoon this time, and we hung our flag with stone and all the information. Some gentlemen from Chile helped us:)
Finally, our fast boat came and took us to West Island. We had to say goodbye to Chaco, it was sad but maybe we will meet again one day. Who knows? The world is not that big after all...
