I’ve heard today that I was distinguished with a National Geographic Traveler 2009 award! Only being nominated to these prizes in two categories ‘The Traveler’s blog’ and ‘The Achievement of the Year’ was a great honour. When the results of the competition were announced, and it occurred that I won in the latter category, I couldn’t help thinking that it must be an April Fools’ Day joke. Imagine how surprised I was when the information turned out to be true!!! :)
It is truly great news – I am honoured and overwhelmed. I would like to congratulate again to both the nominees and the prize-winners. I sincerely thank those who voted for me.

The First Meeting of Polish Community Yachts and Sailors “JACA 2010”
Second part of March
Thanks to Krzysztof Kamiński from Inter-Pro Sailing Team (www.interprosailingteam.com), I could visit the Caribbean Islands. I arrived slightly late, but it was nice to change from slob to warm water and sun again. I began by jumping in my clothes right to the turquoise water!
About 60 sailors representing Polish communities from all around the world arrived. Witek Zamojski sang and there was a meeting about Władysław Wagner (the first Polish sailor who sailed around the world). There were memories about Jacek Dubiel and there was a regatta as well… It was a great pleasure to look at the bays full of Polish flags. I visited my old places and met my old friends, but also got to know many new people. It was a really wonderful time. (for more information, check:
