It’s very late at night and I'm writing to you. I went below the steps of internet café and sat down. It is on the way to the public toilets so I'm accompanied by passing drunk people from the bar below, and surrounded by mosquitoes and some cockroaches - but that’s ok. What’s important is - that the Internet works!!! During the daylight if you come after not forgetting to charge the computer, not forgetting the camera, headphones and the notebooks, making sure the gear wouldn’t get wet on the way and if you are lucky you get the connection. It is a tricky one. Besides at that time in Poland it is late at night and so I cannot talk to my friends or my family. Therefore Dan, the owner of the internet café above, knowing I have so much writing to do, was kind enough to leave the server on so I could come tonight and do some work. It was very nice of him. So here I am writing to you.
On the way here I spoke to some yachties. They just came back from Tanna, an island down south. They stayed in a resort with no light and climbed a volcano. Cool, hm? There was a bad malaria story spreading around from the Solomon Islands. They say 40% of the local population dies of it and also lately there was a crocodile attack over there. Apparently there is a chance you won’t get eaten by those if you are on a sandy beach. What a relief, don’t you think?
Today I got a post from my mom and my sister. Weird, both at the same time though one sent from Santiago de Chile, an other from Poland, but I never knew I can run that fast when I found out I must go to customs in the post office to pick it up. I was so exited on the way back reading the letters I almost got run over by a bus. I got some pictures some gifts and Polish sweets. This is so special to receive a postage being so far away from home. Thank you so much. It made me a little homesick I must say but one has to be tough.....
Also today a friend of mine, 7 years old Jacob has a birthday. I want to wish you a very nice day and I want to tell you that I miss you a lot.
I got my stickers put on the hull today because bad weather washed off the old ones on the way. I got more charts, cleaned up, did laundry. I also picked up my new visa, went to the village to tape some footage. I found out my automatic bulge pump is not working. I need to check it out tomorrow. I hope is nothing serious as I’m running late with leaving Vanuatu. Very late, so I don’t need more things on my list to do.
